The regenerative qualities of bone marrow have been used for decades and are considered the gold standard for stem cell harvesting. However, it is well documented that after the first 1-2 mL of bone marrow aspirate from a traditional needle, the lower viscosity of peripheral blood preferentially flows through the desired bone marrow, limiting the harvest of key stem and progenitor cells.
The patent pending Marrow Cellution Bone Marrow Aspiration (BMA) System overcomes this issue by allowing the user to aspirate in a measured and controlled manner over a large geography inside the marrow space, while restricting peripheral blood infiltration. With the MC-RAN-8 model, users can combine the high quality bone marrow aspirate with percutaneously harvested bone dowel specimens.
